Hi there,

I have a BI V2.5 modified printer (with belts instead of the funny ropes).

I cannot get it to work properly. Each print, after like 30 minutes or a couple of layers the print head begins to hang out too low and then get stuck and then crash completelly into the print/bed.

It happens each time, for each print that takes more than 30-40 minutes.

I don’t know what I can do to avoid it.

Maybe you guys can help me with some ideas.

It happens regardless of the slicing software I use. Also it happens even when the bed is perfectly leveled and all well calibrated … the first layers turn out just perfect, but then he crashes into them ruining them, so I always need to stop the printer.

Cheers,

XRaw

Do you have some pictures of it during/after crashing? Have you join the BI v2.5 community yet (not BI’s forum)? If not send me your email so I can invite you.

It seems to me, that it beginns to skip steps on the timing belt on one side. So he obviousely is loosing the right coordinates after this. After the first skip has occured, the next skips are comming quite fast and often, until the print head dives too deep into the print so that he drags the glass bed left and right with him. I always have to stop him then of course.

I tightened the belt, also loosened it a bit. I don’t know what else to try. I have bought the BI V2.5 already modified, so I’m not fully aware of the stuff that has been modified.

No I’m not within the BI comunitiy, I will send you my email. Would be great if somebody has an idea what I can do.

Thanks

It does certainly seem so. I can caused by more than just the motor skipping steps though. First please check all the belts that there is no elongated pitch. Then try to slow down the travel speed.

By now you should have the invitation to Slack community. We are moving to larger community on Discord, you can use these link to join us too.
