I’m looking to get a way to have a tetrahedron, a cube and a cylinder made 4" high and of a thin shell rather than solid. Pla probably, Wax would be even better but I’m not sure that is currently possible.

How thick do you intend the “thin shell” to be and do those figues have to be open at any side or should they be completely closed with air inside ?

Why would you need wax -> what’s the purpose of the 3d print. In most cases cheaper 3d printing materials will suit the job just as good and for a lower price point.

It’s for lost wax casting glass or a burn out as an alternative

thick enough that they are not fragile maybe 3-5 MM.

That should be no problem. Do you have the models or do you need them created? I charge £25/hour for modelling, but could probably do all 3 shapes shelled out and ready to print in around 20 minutes, so £10. Once you have the models it will then be simple enough to print them. Are you going to cast solid models? If you are then it would probably be quicker (and cheaper) to just print the parts with 5% infill and just 1 or 2 shells.

I honestly dont think that 3d printers will create smooth enough models for casting glass. You’d likely have a textured surface in the glass.

Typically you’re going to see layer lines from FDM printing. If you’re willing to put in the effort you can sand the parts to get a smooth finish. Alternatively I can “polish” the parts for you using a rock tumbler. You will lose the sharp edges and fine details doing this though. If you want to print in ABS then acetone vapour smoothing gives pretty good results too.
