Can someone create a design file for me for a medallion that I have .jpeg file in. I can convert to PDF. How much will that cost?

I’ve heard someone with AutoCAD or Autodesk Inventor can do this to a .stl format which is perfect!

Hi @3Dan, it is possible. The effect would be that you basically get an 3D extrude of your 2D drawing. Would that work for you?

Hi there,

The Simplify3D slicing software actually has a feature that can convert images to a 3D object. There are also other tutorials on how to do this using an image editing software and a free 3D modeling program such as blender or Tinkercad. Here’s the best guide that I was able to find. @3DPrintingNinja

Hope that helps!

@3Dan

It would really help to know

it is line art

how complex

size

what output you want - you say design file - is that a dwg, dxf, vector, printable stl

Everything is possible- you can get to a dxf really easily using inkscape or photoshop have a look on youtube for inkscape instructions (free software).

I would need it converted to an .stl printable file. It just has to look like a medallion. The material doesn’t matter. The diameter would be 66mm. I’ve heard ColorFab Broze Fill Filament or ProtoPasta’s Metalic PLA could work. A 3D extrude would work as well. I will attach the .jpeg for you to look at. Some people have told me that it is so high in detail that it might be difficult to replicate.
