The part that fell off is .75" x .625" x .125", black, and has two slots in it. Where does it go?

I don’t think that is a part. It is more likely a a sample print. I have taken my machine apart and reassembled it several times and have never seen this before.
It looks like a test piece to me. FF calibrates and tests the printers before shipping, it is likely that it was just left in by mistake. No part in the print head I’ve seem looks remotely like that.
Agreed, it’s either a text print or a 3rd party upgrade. Did you buy the machine used?

All flashforge creator pro parts are injection molded as far as I know, and this looks like 3d Printed.
Just by a quick visual inspection of my FFCpro I can’t find it on anything… That part’s quality doesn’t seem on par (in terms on quality) with the rest of the printer either… I’ll let you know if I find anything different!
