I’ve been using Painters tape with my printer. But the tape won’t stick to the work area. Any suggestions?

Could use some more info. What bed surface? Glass plate? Painters tape is going to be very sensitive to any coating on the surface. Cheap tape will be even worse. 3M would be my choice. Wipe the bed down with alcohol as long as it won’t harm the surface.
It’s a metal plate. I did use alcohol on it and works great.
