Has anyone used/seen one of these printers in action? They are appearing on ebay and I am considering on (I’d like a delta - have an i3 rework now). Given that they are a consumer printer will parts/maintenance be as straight forward as with open source printers?

I have one and it’s been a bit of a nightmare. When it works it works great, but it breaks down so much it’s like having a crappy reprap. My ancient prusa i3 does better quality and is much more reliable.

Luckily they used sorta-standard components, so I was able to replace a burnt heater cartridge, drill out my clogged nozzle, and manually level my bed.

The auto leveling doesn’t work worth a damn (It just drives the nozzle into the glass and scratches it) and I can’t fix half of the other issues because firmware is closed. If it were open I could swap to an e3d and I think I’d be happy with it.

For now, hold off if you’re looking for a ‘consumer’ printer. It’s just a reprap with a nice case and no ability to change anything for now.

I have the Overlord Pro (the one with the headted bed). My initial reaction was that it is a bit larger than I expected it to be. It is also quite noisy when it’s running. I have had little success printing ABS, even with the heated build plate, it still tends to warp and get a bit bobbly. I have also successfully printed in Colourfab Glow in the dark, and the PLA that came with it also produces good results. Tried printing Ninjaflex and it screwed up the extruder. After that I printed with the PLA again, left it to print and came back to an unfinished piece. This required me to strip out the extruder (fairly standard direct drive stuff) and disassemble the hot end. Removed the problem filament blockage and reassembled with no issues, very easy to do in fact. Had an issue with the firmware needed to be updated, which you need an old version of Cura 12.11 I think, but since then its been good as gold. Although I haven’t tried printing ABS again yet, so don’t know if the firmware update has improved the issues I had before. New firmware fixed bed leveling issues as well as display offset and time remaining bug. All in all, generous build volume, a little slower than my other printers, a bit noisy but in my opinion worth the money. Also ordered the Laser module but that isn’t released till September. Hope this helps.

I have one, it works really well I think, but I’ve only printed a few things. Will do more experimenting, but so far so good for my black devil pverlord pro.

I have an Overlord PRO, and I really like it! I have had some prolems with some switch problems, but the last firmware fixed it!

The print quality is really good, a nice step up from the i3. It’s VERY easy to use, plug and play!

This is a very new printer, I think they just finished shipping to the kickstarter backers, so not everything is in place right now.

They have a store, but they only sell the printer, not any parts, yet. To get spare parts you need to send them an email, and you probably get your parts free…

AND they will make the software open source later on

Hi, I’m also having a Overlord Pro, and just bought a FlexTPU spool…
This is kind the same as Ninjaflex I guess ? Do you have any tips for printing with this kind of filament ? I’ll hope I can print without screw up my printer…
