Hey guys, I ran into a weird issue, I just got the monoprice mini I ran two prints without any real issue then all of a sudden the dial (or scroll wheel next to the lcd screen) will not read when I select something. It will however still highlight items just not allow me to access anything =/ so I have been stuck on main menu. I read online about updating the firmware and other software aspects but they all required me to be able to interface with the menu somewhat. So I don’t know if it an issue with me somehow messing with the driver for the button or a hardware issue. Anyone else run into a problem like this?

Samuel,

That is a very odd issue. I would recommend updating the firmware as well. I’ve been running the latest for weeks now without issue. Documentation can be found on the google document below with steps on updating the firmware. You shouldnt have to “interface with the menu” to do this, rather follow a few steps with moving the axis to their limits and activating the end stops. Hope this helps.

I read a post of someone who had an identical issue and he contact monoprice support. Their response was to exchange it with a new product. I would agree. If a powercycle doesn’t fix it, then it could be HW or FW. If a FW update doesn’t fix it then it’s defiantly hardware. “Simple” machines like this don’t have hardware drivers. If you have the skill you could change it out with another scroll wheel switch. With a $200 printer you’ll need to change some HW eventually anyway. If you’re within 30 days though I’d exchange it if it were me.
