Hello fellow M3D owners!
I made a quick search on the M3D forum and I didn’t find a lot of information on how to deal with nozzle clog problems so I thought I would share on their forum and on this site as well.
I have been using my M3D for almost a month and everything worked fine. I used all the PLA filament colors (5 different colors) and I was able to change the colors without any problems. I started to run out of black filament and I decided to by a generic filament from our “local amazon.com ” called souq.com because delivering from the US is expensive for me (I am in Dubai).
So I tried this new filament and it worked great for the first print but at some point (I don’t remember exactly what I did) but the nozzle got clogged.
I de-assembled the printer head after reading the following article (which is very good and it is a must read) and removed the nozzle completely. It seemed like the cheap PLA got stuck in the bottom of the nozzle. Long story short, here is a way to fix this:
Hold the nozzle with a pair of pliers and use a lighter to heat the narrow end of the nozzle where the plastic is stuck.
Take a log straw of your filament and stick it inside the nozzle and allow it to melt with the PLA located inside.
Wait for the plastic to cool down.
Hold the nozzle with one hand and use the pair of pliers to pull the filament (be careful not to cut the plastic with the pliers). If it works you will get this .
Additionally, you can stick a needle on the narrow end of the nozzle to make sure the nozzle is cleaned. I had to do that to clean it completely. There was a small part of plastic that got stuck in the hole but, it didn’t come out with the rest of the plastic.

Yeah buying cheap filament could mean it was damaged on shipping with weather or just snaps under small amounts of pressure and can mess with the extruder.
