I’m sorry if i posted this in some sort of wrong section. I recently got a Monoprice Maker Select Plus 3d printer and i leveled my bed and the prints print fantastically most of the time. What i’ve noticed is that once the print is beginning, the filament doesn’t come out in time for the first 1-2 seconds. This seems to mess up a whole 1/4th of my outline for the project. When the next layer comes in it doesn’t stick to the plastic(because there is no plastic) I just bought some cleaning filament because I read that this is because of a nozzle clog. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Generally speaking with FDM printers, the tell tail sign for a clog is when the extruder stops extruding correctly part way through a print. In this case however, it sounds like the extruder is simply delayed. I have a very similar printer and have also experienced this issue. In most cases, it is caused by some of the filament in the nozzle oozing out once print temperature is achieved. To counter this, I would recommend manually feeding filament until you can see it extruding (after heating the extruder to print temp) right before starting the print.
