I bought a PowerSpec 3D Pro 2 (microcenter’s take on the flashforge creator pro). For the first two days i fought bed leveling and getting my first layer of PLA to stick to the bed. Finally last night I was able to get the first layer to stick with scotchtape blue painter’s tape coated with rubbing alcohol. Now I have these blobs all over the place on my first print.I am using 3DSimplify instead of replicator g (I never could get drivers to install correctly with replicator g) not sure what to do. Is this over extrusion? hot ends too hot?
I am using 1.75mm PLA heated 205C and bed set to 40C. I am using the Powerspec 3dpro profile (didnt see one for pro 2) and im using medium quality print settings.
Any help would greatly appreciated.
Simplify 3D is a good choice. Temps are ok but you could go hotter on the bed to help adhesion - maybe 60-65. If it is working at 40 though then that is ok.
You will probably need to dig into the settings on it. I would google and read up on doing a calibration cube. This will help you get things dialed in a bit.
People are going to offer all kinds of solutions but you really need to start with the basics and understanding the leveling, the all so important first layer and the calibration cube will help a lot. Not glamorous or fun but necessary!!

Aside from the blobs Benchy isn’t horrible!!

I have the power spec 3-D pro, I strongly suggest using a surface like Buildtak no messing with painters tape or hairspray or glue or alcohol. It’s great. For PLA I am usually first layer 215°, slow speed around 10mm/s, layer height 90%, no fan. After first layer I switch to 210°, fan on, 40 to 60 mm/s.
