i have made two CNC machines and recently I have been thinking pretty seriously about making a 3D printer, still reading about the style I want to build.
However right now now I am needing some help in scanning and generating STL files, for my CNC and in the future a 3D printer
I have a XBOX 360 Kinect scanner and have downloaded RECONSTRUCTME software, however there isn’t any guide to aid in setting the system up for scanning, or at least I haven’t found one yet, anyone familiar with this system and could help me get started?
i have another option in that there is a software called QLONE which works with an IPHONE with the item placed on a 8x10 special grid, it is successful in scanning small items less than 3-4” tall. I tried to scan an item that was 18” tall and it gave me a “cannot find the grid” error message. I’m thinking the grid sheet is too small for this size object, and I could not find a larger grid. Any suggestions?
