So I just unboxed my new A8 which I have had sitting around since X-mas time.

I did a couple of hours of research before even opening up the printer so that I would be prepared. I haven’t read through the entire installation instructions that came with the printer and I have just skimmed through the videos (I will look at them all prior to install).

However there were a few things I found online that I’m a bit surprised when I looked at the parts.

I’ve seen a lot of videos and posts about proper wiring and safety. Various suggestions are:

- Use a MOSFET

- No MOSFET needed, just solder the wires.

- No MOSFET needed, just crimp terminal connectors to the wires.

And within the above advice various people say to tin the wires or not tin the wires, etc, etc.

Well, when I unboxed the printer I see that all the wires are already terminated in spade connectors - with the exception of the 3 leads coming out from the power plug. The power plug wires are tinned however.

What to do? Do I use as is? Should I remove the tin from the power cable wires and use spade connectors on those as well?

Also what is the current thinking regarding still using a MOSFET? Much of what I read seems to indicate that the safety issues were usually just bad wiring…but I suppose it couldn’t hurt?

Thanks
