Hi . my Anet a8 came yesterday (first printer ) , well chuffed . Not built yet as i have a few things around the house to do first , sad , very sad .
Ive done night school classes a few years ago on autocad 2d and 3d and im a little rusty . Im now throwing myself into freecad .
My question now is . Can i download a file of something and then put it into freecad so that i can add and remove bits ?
Thanks for all and any advise given , Cheers Andy

Since you had some autoCAD experience I would take a look at Fusion 360 if you haven’t already. It is also by autodesk.

Hi @67Andyc not sure if I’ve got the gist of your question, but if you’re looking for “ready to go” models online, this is one of the most popular:
If you’re looking for something other than freecad, you might want to check out Blender and Autodesk’s 123D Design and Fusion 360. Both Blender and 123D are free, and Fusion 360 has a free year.
For your very first prints, I’d actually recommend something fairly simple. It’s a good idea to get a “feel” for how things work before tackling the more complex prints.
