Hello, I have a new Hatchbox Alpha that I just got today and when I try printing PETG at 240C Hotend and 100C Bed. Mid way through the print, the PETG would stop. I disassembled my hotend and saw the PETG stuck in the PTFE tube and its diameter was about 1.9 ish. The filament is 1.75, anyone got any ideas on how to fix it? Thanks!
So the PTFE liner in your printer starts to degrade quickly at above 230 degrees. You probably need to replace the ptfe tubing if it is warped, shrunken, or burned. You will not be able to print much at 240 without constanly replacing the PTFE or getting an all metal hot end upgrade such as the micro swiss hot end.

Perry is right on the money… You are approaching terminal temps for PTFE and it will require regular replacement at that temp… You can also review your retraction settings. A lot of retractions especially if you are retracting log ( I only retract 1.2mm for PETG) in an effort to stop pulling the hot PETG back up into the throat. A good cold end fan is important when you start printing the higher temp materials… Also 100C for your bed is a little warm for PETG. It wont hurt anything but all of the PETG I have tried sticks very well at 50c
