I had grand plans for my first 3D print. My 7-year old step-son is obsessed with the dragons, so I nonchalantly googled ‘3d print dragons’, with the idea that I could get inspiration and print one of my own. Needless to say that google images displayed amazing 3D printed dragons. Whilst the soul was willing and the spirit was challenged by the notion of printing one of these dragons, the more practical side of me decided that this might be beyond my current level of experience.
So I got onto Tinkercad, took some tutorials, and I designed two rings for my step-son, whose name is August, so they both have an ‘A’ on them, but at right angles to each other. This gives him some options when wearing it. Options are critical.
I didn’t get around to making the amazing dragon I wanted but I did order this nifty little light switch on 3D Hubs for my step-son instead he can now go from the light side to the dark side with a flip of a switch…delivered by Scott in person https://www.3dhubs.com/new-york/hubs/sylvia-scott
Have you considered printing a dragon off of Thingiverse? I wasn’t sure if you were insistent on creating your own dragon (which is rather hard) or just didn’t know something as nice as Thingiverse was there.
Some of them are rather hard to print, but there are a lot to choose from.
