Hey guys, I need some help. I built a delta printer from a HE3D kit about a year and a half ago, and it’s starting to develop problems.

First one of the axis motors started grinding and reversing directions soon after I would turn the printer on. I guessed the motor controller board for that motor was overheating, so I added another cooling fan at it and played around with the heat sink on it. That seemed to fix the problem, but now I have a problem with the extruder.

As soon as the extruder starts heating up, it skyrockets. My software (Repetier Host) shows the temperature climbing up past 300 degrees and never stops. The filament is boiling out of the extruder head.

Can anyone help me out so that I don’t have to shelve an $800 printer?

have you checked all your connections (retighten everything maybe even consider switching out thermistors) or run a pid autotune? also what firmware are you using
