So yesterday on my Tronxy x5s 2E kit, I wanted to make the belts tighter because one side was moving faster than the other. I run an H bot system. When I put the belt tensioner on, I think I broke my stepper motors. They won’t turn anymore. Does anyone know how to fix this?
You’ll need to go through a process of elimination.
If it is more than one that quit then that is a clue.
What is common to all of them?
Remove the tensioner.
Is there power?
Are cables plugged in ok.

Power is working, cables are all plugged in, I removed the tensioner, and for some reason the motors won’t turn. I think I might have put too much stress on them?
Possible but more likely to be a driver gone bad than a motor.
I’d probably unplug all motors from the board and then see if you can get any to turn.
Does the extruder work or are all steppers not working?
Plug one of the non working steppers into the extruder cable and see if it will turn.
If it does then it is probably the stepper driver.
Or the cable came a little loose.
Motors rarely fail.

Ok, give my like 5 hours until I get out of school.

So about a month later I figured out the problem. For some weird reason, if the belts are too tense, (or another unknown reason) the motors seem to get really stiff and unmoveable. However, if I let them sit for an hour or so, they become movable again.
