My printer heats up and after printing for about 5 minutes cools down and doesn’t print properly. My printer has had very little use as it keeps having problems. Does anyone know why it does this?

Thanks!

Renee

What do you mean with “cools down”? The extruder temp drops but the printer keeps on printing? Does it stop? Error Messages? What temps and speeds / software are you using…?!..

It heated up, started printing and then dropped down to 189 and then went back up as high as 112. It continues to print but stringy filament. Yesterday I think it said cooling down, check wiring. It is set for 220 and we use PLA.

Thanks

Thermocouple issue?

Try check connection for heater. There should be bad connectivity. It normally happen when print head move around. So normally the temperature will only drop when printing action. For me direct wire soldering solve this problem.

I got the same problem, starts printing and then it started to drop the temperature of the extruder, I have to start troubleshooting, I don’t think it’s the thermocouple because if I touch it with my hand once it cools down it reads the temperature on the extruder being affected by my hand, any subjections of what should I check?
