Prior to joinning 3DHubs, I charged an initial setup fee, plus the volume of material used but had a minimum charge per part. This helped me offset the additional time spent setting up multiple small parts, while helping me keep costs competitive for the larger parts.
I’d like to see 3D hubs add a minimum price per part to the costing algorithm. Anybody care to comment?

@rmigliac I just set my minimum charge to cover whether it is small or large - I get orders for several small parts and the set up fee tends to cover the time - and they fail less!

I like the idea of a minimum price per part, it’s been suggested before but we just didn’t get around to it yet as we want to make more advanced changes to the pricing algoritms when we’re at it, it will come in the next months for sure!
A good idea , the same counts for the different printing quality . In Simplify( also all othe slicers) you’ll have fast/medium and high quality printing.
The material usage is nearly the same but the different layerheight setting (.3/.2/.1mm) will result in printtime 50% and 250% more time then a fast print. You can also say that its up to the Hub to decide what to charge or discount for the different printqualities.
Good point about the effects of print quality settings @3Dscaleworks . Looking forward to the improved costing algorithms in the future. Thanks to all for the feedback.

Indeed a percentual increase or decrease was one of the solutions we’re eyeballing, allows to keep the interface simple.
