Noob post alert !
I need to print what I can only describe as a small petri-dish shaped object.
It needs to be transparent (or at least slightly) and the lid needs to be lockable, either through tabs or a screw thread.
How do I choose a material and thickness for such an object ? Is there anywhere I can look for something that has already been designed ?
Any thoughts or ideas ?

Hey @Matthew_Dodswor, we’ve got a super handy Material Wizard you can check out that will suggest the material and technology to print in based on the requirements of your project. Head over to our Start a 3D Print page and just above Step 2 on the right, select ‘Recommend material’. I hope that helps!

For transparency you may want to try Clear XT or transparent PETG.
When designing the part you want to minimize the thickness of the bottom and top.
You can also XTC 3D epoxy to improve the transparency after the print has printed.
You may be able to find models here: thingiverse.com and "lab equipment" 3D Models to Print - yeggi
