Printed with Printrbot Simple Metal, Settings: 195C, 40mm/s, layerhight 0.1mm, density 15%, retraction speed 40mm/s, retraction distance 4mm. i notice its main problems are overhangs and bridging.
I have considered that maybe it is my filament that i am using so i have ordered some colorfabb pla/pha filament and when that arives i will be doing some tests on that. Currently i am useing Filament from Seacans.com
Hey, how’s it going. I’m assuming your using the stock heater so something I would look into is again assuming your printing in pla maybe a lower temp. Some are kinda choosy on what temp they like. I’ve never used that particular brand of filliment so I can’t say for sure, I’m a sucker for hatchbox filliment. Never a problem with it.
Overhangs could be easier to achieve with 0.2mm layer height, in any case the fan cooling is the priority here, maximum speed + good fan duct. For bridging I personnally slow the print speed down to 20/30mm.sec. Along with the maximum fan speed. Might be useful to upgrade it a littlle. That looks like good filament to me. I’m no expert though. Is there a retraction at those points to cure the layer? You might use ‘cura’ or some such to look. Maybe the retraction is leaving something? Have you run lots of calibration tests yet?
