I am aware that Markforged does not want users to use anything but their proprietary materials.
The Onyx one printer only has a setting for their onyx material and not the nylon settings.
Has anyone who has this printer used regular nylon, if so did they have any issues printing it?
I love my printer but would be willing to trade warranty loss for access to cheaper materials.
Hello Jeffrey,
I have tried to print Onyx on a Standard version of Mark-Two printer ( old line up) and o didn’t have any issue with resolution but I have seen some problems on tolerances, wall shrunk more than it should be and my part went out of tolerance.
it seems that Eiger consider the thermal contraction into account when slicing, so part will be oversized by software and ended up within tolerance, and it varies when declaring different materials Nylon, Onyx.

Hi jvillon, I also have a Mark Two standard version and I just started to try it with Onyx, I’ve heard from Markforged that the extruder is not made to handle a Onyx extrusion but I haven’t seen any trouble so far. Have you?
And have you try to re print some Nylon after your Onyx printing, if yes, does that change something on the Nylon result ?
Good thing to know for the contraction !
