Hello guys, my name is Frankie and i’m from Brazil. I would like to ask you guys what is the best option for me - i want to sell things printed in a 3d printer at the malls here, in my city. We need a fast machine, with high quality, good software and low noises. Thanks!
Hey Frankie,
All depends on your budget but you can get good results from most FDM printers. Also depends what you want to print and sell. Take a long look at the 3DHubs Printer Guide…
Personally, I’m very happy with my Flashforge Creator Pro which, I think would be a great place to start. It’s a great printer at the price and will print all day long for years.
It’d be worth spending a little money on 3D printing software, rather than using free software. I’d suggest you invest in Simplify3D.
Good luck with your venture. I hope it works out well for you.
Cheers,
AndyL

thank you my friend. Let me ask you… do you know a printer called Makerbot? What about it?
Hey Frankie,
Yeah. Makerbot is a good brand. My Flashforge is a copy of the Makerbot Replicator 2X. It’s about half the price here in the UK so it’s a no-brainer but I’m sure there are compensations. There’s another copy; the Wahao Duplicator 4, that’s apparently very good too.
You can compare them here…
In fact, most of the printers towards the top of the Enthusiast category will serve you very well.
Cheers!

Hi,
The printer that seems to fit you best is the Ultimaker 2. It’s expensive but is very quiet, has the best (free) software in the business, can produce very nice prints down to 20 micron and can supposedly print at a very fast 300mm/s. But you are very unlikely to get any FDM printer actually going that fast with good results. About 50-100mm/s is the sweet spot.
My my other suggestion would be a duplicator 4x as they are quite good. They print nicely as long as you spend some time calibrating it. And the software is simple and easy to use.
Aldo try taking a look at the 3D hubs printer buyers guide.
I’d like to just add a critical distinction: Makerbot used to be a good brand. No longer. Avoid the 5th generation machines like the plague, and the brand in general if you value autonomy, ownership, and non-DRM consumables.
