Making a Printer Larger?

Hey everyone!

Currently I own a Printrbot Simple from 2014. I really want a much larger printer though, and since large printers are very expensive, I am wondering if I can use the materials from my current printer to build a bigger one. Can I use the motors, extruder, controller, ect. to make a bigger printer? Would it work if I used those materials to make a larger printer and then told my computer that the build volume is bigger than that of the Printrbot Simple? Would the controller of the Printrbot work for that?
