I accidentally installed the botstep drivers backwards on the board and when I turned the power on, the board made a big bang sound and there were smoke coming out. Does that mean I broke the entire board because now when I turn on the printer the screen, and the led strip won’t show up and there isn’t the startup music too, only the green leds on the boards are on.
No, take some very detailed photos and I’ll try to work out what you’ve blown n
While it may be possible to repair the board, my advice is to replace the entire board - in the long run it may end up being cheaper. And why were the stepper drivers out of their sockets anyway? Always mark components with orientations before removing them unless there is a definite one-way installation…
Much like Monty Pythons parrot, that board is expired. It has gone to the proverbial big printer in the sky, it’s pushing up the 3D printed daisies. It’s an ex-board.
If you are lucky, very lucky, it could just be a capacitor. That’s replaceable.
