Hi, Quite a few of my objects are loose filament underneath the object. Is there a way to correct this?
I will tell you what I do on my bed. I take the regular duck tape “What I call yellow tape”. Not the grey stuff. I put 4 pieces across my bed from back to front. Just slightly overlaying them as I work to the front of the bed. Like a little of 1\8 inch over each other. I take light sand paper and lightly brush from front to back of the whole bed. The idea is to get it to where it is sort of soft feeling. Get the shinnyness out of the tape. The regular duck tape is not so shinny, but it does have a slight sheen to it. I have been doing this for awhile and not have had any issue with stuff not sticking.
Hmm, yes, that would have made sense to take photos. But won’t be back in my classroom until Tuesday and will post then. Thank you.
What’s your material? Bed temp? Sound like you need to either begin your first later closer to the bed (raise the bed to 0.20 mm or so) or add heat to the bed, but it depends on your material!
Have you tried lowering the Z height?
You are describing masking tape. Like painters use. . As a general rule of thumb you should set the extruder to about a paper thickness from the bed. So let the printer almost start a print. Turn it off. Move it to the side and clean of any material that started coming off. Lay a price of paper on the bed. Move the extruder over it and adjust the bed till it barley touches the paper and gives a tiny bit of resistance when you move the paper( like so tiny you can tell it’s touching but not piching or dragging…) To have a spot that doesn’t touch in the middle or is touching in the middle but not on the sides is normal. The bed warps a bit on some printers. Just average it out. For me I usually average to where the high spot on my bed practically touches the extruder on the first layer. It clicks a little when passing this spot on the first layer but by the second or third layer it resolves it’s self and I get a good print… Good luck…
