I’m looking to buy / build a spool holder for a 10kg bulk real. Dimensions are 8" for wide and diamater of 14". And the center hole is 1.5".

Does anyone know some basic parts at Lowes, Home Depot, any hardware store, that I could use to build a smooth rolling spool holder that mounts to a wall or could even bee table top?

I’d print one, but, my printer only does 150mm x 150mm x 150mm and 8" would be around 200mm and it needs to hold around 22 pounds (10kg). I’m not sure if a PLA spool holder would hold that much weight or not.

Any suggestions?

Jeez, what’s the point in owning a 3D printer if you’re not going to use it for challenges like this?

A spool holder doesn’t have to be long enough to fit through the entire reel; you could have a pair of supports that you bring together to support the reel on it’s outer rim or inner centre. Be creative, there’s lots of ways to solve this problem and using the printer itself is half the fun.

I have seen some people build them out of a plastic bin and run a dowel through it. You may want to look on Instructables.
