I am looking to have a Han Solo in carbonite printed, to fit over a graphics card in my computer. I have found a .STL online of the but the dimensions are too small. I am looking to have it re-sized to fit the dimensions in the picture of the graphics card that I have attached. I am really just looking to have the top, right side and front covered up. Can anyone help me out?

Hi Chris! This seems like a interesting, yet tricky project. Adjusting the size of the Han Solo plate is no problem, but you might want additional mounting blocks printed on the side so that this plate is held in place securely. Also you’d want to go with materials like XT or Alloy910 (look at my hub for pricing information). The common PLA will start deforming at 60C. ABS however can resist such temperature, but will most likely warp on such a big plat. warping in general means, that the model contracts when it cools down, on ABS you will see lifted corners and a uneven vertical surface. Please contact me for more information, you can start an enquiry on my hub: www.3dhubs.com/siegen/hubs/marius I’m experienced in CAD Software so it would be no problem, to add screw mountings etc. I do also offer all materials, that I listed above. Hope to hear from you, Marius

stl files can be scaled up or down in cura.

up = loss of definition

down = gain in definition

I will have to check it out thanks. Does Cura show the dimensions of the of the file, i.e. length, width, height in mm/inches? Is the scaling ratio locked?

see pic . cura is a good package
