Hey fellow 3D Hubs folks! So, I’ve been annoyed at the rather rudamentary way I’ve been tracking my filament inventory… it’s essentially one big bulky google doc. I wanted something more elegant, but alas I’ve yet to find the solution online… so instead I decided to build one.

The general idea is that you catalog your spools of filament, log each print, and get a general sense of where your filament stocks are at. You can also track things like nozzle wear, and other consumables, optimum parameters for particular material types, and tons of reporting and such for things like expenses, profits (if any) and whatever else you might want. (I’d also like to eventually hook it into the Octoprint API so that you can send prints straight to it_

Did I mention I’m not really much of a coder? If anyone out there is big on Rails and wants to lend a hand, or knows how to make web UX’s way prettier, I could reaaaaly use your help. The entire project is meant to be open sourced, and I’d love for it to be something everyone here can eventually use as well!

The repo is at https://github.com/sargonas/AnvilTracker/ if any brave souls want to help contribute!

Hi there!

I’ll take a look at this later and see if I can help out! If nothing else, I could contribute to the UX side of it (I’m pretty new to Rails so I don’t know how much help I could offer there).

Awesome to hear, thanks!

If you or anyone else has other ideas on communities I can reach out to to look for additional help, I’d love to hear it!
