Do you know which type of nozzle and hot end creatr / creatr hs uses ?
Is there any 3rd party or alternative which we can use instead of original ones?
The nozzles, that the leapfrog printers are using have an inside thread, which is very uncommon for hotends. I haven’t found any 3rd party nozzles (or cheaper suppliers) that would work with the Creatr (HS). I myself own a Creatr HS and have designed a new printhead that allows you to mount an e3d Chimera dual extrusion hotend on the printhead. I’ll share the files once I tested everything. The e3d nozzles are available in a much larger variety of sizes and cost way less then the leapfrog ones. The printhead has another major advantage over others and that is, that it has one extrusion motor mounted on the printhead. This means, that you have a dual extrusion printer with one direct drive and one bowden. Two bowden extruders are bad when printing flexible stuff, two direct drive extruders are bad, because you can only print slow and a larger printhead means less build volume. My printhead is just 5mm wider then the original one so you barely loose any build volume! I’ll keep you updated and will make a separated post in TALK once everything is tested. I think these parts are their own poor design, I am also looking for alternative to use metallic filament but so far no news about from them or other people.
why wouldn’t you use the original ones?
I’m in South Africa and it takes about 2 months for me to get these part delivered here with our strict custom laws. So I’ve got a quotation to manufacture them from a supplier that we have been using for this type of work for years. To get the price benefit I had to make a few extra. I’m willing to sell these off if anyone was interested.
Hi there, I’m a first edition Creatr user and I also couldn’t find a third party nozzles because of weird thread inside. I damaged the nozzle while trying to calibrate faulty print bed (glass with lot of deviations) and after contacting support i got new printing bed and a new set of nozzles. Later I bought one more set (2 nozzles) for 17 EUR and I don’t have any problems with printing all kind of filaments.
It’s a 0.35mm nozzle, some Reprap stores may have something you can use, but make sure the length is the same or you’ll have to redo your whole bed.
You can order more from Leapfrog but yeah, they tend to charge a fortune for delivery, to Aus at least.
It seems everyone of us has problems with creatr hot end system.

It takes 150 Hours to rebuild this CREATR. All Spindles were straightened on a Lathe. The same for the Linear Guides. I want 100% precision, and i have become what i want. The Layers are so smooth and looks very fine.
