Hey There,

I designed my own Lego storage box.

The shape is large, but it is more air than plastic.

How does it come sow expansive when i try 2 upload it and find a hub?

(Over 1000 euro!)

Is their an solution or alternative?

Likely because its an exceptional size. Most printers will not be able to print something this large in one piece (the 600x400 part i mean). Even the Raise3D i am buying has a max of 305x305x610 (x,y,z) and would not be able to print it in one piece

If you would slice up the print and ask it to be printed in 2 pieces (if that is even possible) it might turn out to be a lot cheaper

If i chop my design in 4 peaces …

Besides my Lego will fall out :wink:

One peace will cost about 146,-

Sow it still will be a very expensive Legobox…

Is the filament that expensive?

I guess i have 2 wait a couple of years…

For filament (depending on how strong and heat resistent etc you want it) you must count between 30 and 60 Euro/KG

Yes its still very expensive compared to injection molding BUT only if you make tons of them!

For a small production the printing will be cheaper since making an injection mold is very expensive for small runs

I am also in the Netherlands (southwest brabant) but i wont have my new printer till end of feb / march i fear (kickstarter project)

About the lego’s falling out, you can glue the 4 pieces together or make some sort of connector to click the pieces together (and then glue for extra strength)
