Hello,
Castable resin material is good for jewelry. This resin melts on contact with gold jewelry to allow good casting.

I use a Castable resin which I use to do lost wax casting with. The results from the prints seem to work quite well!

Hi,
for smaller parts or parts with a lot of details or rings, resin would be the first choice.
And if you want to use the printed models for a melt cast you can use castable resin for. It is prepared that there won’t be carbon deposits left after the process.
If you use do a sandcast it doesn’t matter what resin you use. Castable is more expensive than the standard.
Otherwise if your models aren’t that small and don’t need to be highly detailed you could use PLA/ABS.
Kind regards,
Will

Hi, I print in Emerald Green Resin from B9 Creations and in WaxCast from Makerjuice. If the models are cured well and the foundry sticks to the burnout cycle then result are perfect. Surface quality of the printsouts are allready perfect with no stepping visible for the naked eye.

We use a 3dsystem wax printer as well as their resin printer.
Most of our customer prefer wax over resin because of the simple casting process.
For thin parts with a lot of details we recommend resin.

Hello Yara,
We’ve been using resin for SLA printers and we can get excellent results with this material, specially using castable resin which is a material specialized for jewelry printing, this resin burns out leaving no residue/ashes, so we are able to maintain our design’s fine details.
You can read more about this resin here: http://formlabs.com/support/materials/using-castable-resin/
