Hi Guys, I’m new to 3d printing. I need a small part (the size of the green houses in monopoly) made into a 3d file to print… here it is.

It is quite simple, any guidance as to what software I should use?

Since this is a pretty simple piece, you can definitely use Tinkercad for it. Tinkercad is a really easy-to-learn, web-based software and the site has great tutorials. You’ll pick it up in no time.

That top shape might be a little tricky, so you could use Tinkercad’s Import function to bring it in as an SVG file. What I would do is: take your blueprint into Paint or Photoshop and erase all other lines and markings except that shape, then save it as a JPEG. Then find an online SVG converter (this will make your JPEG into an SVG). Then use Tinkercad’s Import function to bring in your SVG, and resize it to scale. Here’s a video from Tinkercad that shows you how. You can also trace your blueprint in Illustrator and export as an SVG, and bring that into Tinkercad directly.

Hi

I could draw this and print it for you if you wanted to contact me.

Adam

Here you go…
Pivot Pin.STL (64.8 KB)

Have you got a picture/measurements of what the underside of the part looks like? I assume it fits onto a shaft of some sort.

You can import the .stl that Roks has very kindly done for you into Tinkercad and make the mod to include the hole for the shaft.

Cheers,

Marc

The file he posted looks like a legit manufacturing print, so a hole would have been shown and called out in another view. I doubt the engineer/designer and checker missed detailing something like that. I would venture a guess that the rounded portion of the pin fits into a cavity and not onto a shaft.
