Is there a setting where I can only heat one nozzle when printing? I have a Flashforge Creator Pro. Use Simplify 3D as a slicer. I am mainly using my left nozzle but both heat up. Is there to make it so just the left nozzle heats up? Thanks
Yes, in the upper right of the properties screen you may have both nozzles selected. Is the FFCP selected for the printer profile?
Then you can select PLA as the material and that should default to the left so the fan works.
I only have one nozzle selected. Yes FFCP is selected. I print in ABS so I have that selected. Still heats both heads up.
Ok, ABS profile selected for the right nozzle I assume? When it starts to heat does it show both nozzles heating on the printer display? i.e a target temp and a current temp for left and right like 60/230 Do both get to the same temp?
Ok, if you are selecting ABS but using the left nozzle that may be it since ABS normally defaults to the right nozzle.
Go through every tab in advanced mode in S3D and make sure everything is left only if that is the one you want. If you can see the attached image this is how S3D looks when selecting ABS note on the right side the highlighted area that selects the overall nozzle defaults to the right one.

I have ABS selected but I have Left Extruder Only selected. When it heats up both nozzles are heating up at the same time to what temp I have selected. 220/220. Both get to same temp and stay there.
I thought I have selected everything as left only. I do that for the temp selection too.
Maybe the setting “Ditto printing” is on, on your FFCP. You can check on the display of the FFCP… “Go to Utilities” -> “General Settings” -> “Ditto Printing” if it’s ON turn it OFF.
Ditto printing allows you to reproduce the print for a second extruder, enabling you to print two of the same thing at once. It does not matter for which extruder the print was sliced, it will be reproduced on both nozzles.
What I do is if I am using ABS for instance on the right extruder I set the top part to right only and then I go through and delete the left one from all of the places it is.
