Let me preface this by saying this is the first time working with 3D printers. I recently completed my Anet A8 3D printer and going through the process of learning how to print and trouble-shooting issues. I have made sure everything is calibrated correctly, i.e. made sure rods connected to x-axis are not bent and are level, made sure hot bed is level, made sure everything is plugged in properly, etc.
I am having an issue of the first layer of filament not successfully sticking to the hot bed. I read in the instructions that if the temperature differential between the filament coming out of the extruder and the hot bed is too great, the plastic will shrink; therefore, causing it not to stick to the hotbed. I also read that the best temperature for the hot bed for the PLA filament is a bout 40-50 degrees C.
The temperature for the hotbed is automatically set to 50 degrees C, but I would like to see if raising the temperature a little bit will help. The problem is that every time I raise the hotbed temperature, and start to print file, the hotbed temperature resets to 50 degrees C and starts to cool down to that temperature.
I would like to add that I have tried turning the fan on as well and have the same issue of it turning to default setting (off) as soon as a start to print file.
