Hi, I have an Ender 3 that is attached to a Raspberry PI. I have added three TL smoothing modules but I am still getting this jittering on the back side of my prints. It always happens at approximately the same place. Here is an image of what it is doing, I would appreciate any help.

Thanks

It looks like this is at the layer change seam.
What print speeds?

I’d try to slow down some and see if it improves.

I don’t think a TL is going to help with this.

Hey wirlybird, thanks for the fast reply. I usually print at about 60-65, slowing it down doesn’t seem to make much of a difference. Could it be the slicer, or the interaction between the slicer and the R.PI ?

I’d slow to 35-40mm/s or more just to test and see if you get improvement if you haven’t already. Also check you outer perimeter speed.

Assuming this is the change seam or direction change can you tell if the areas to the left in the picture are the start of the extrusion run?
If so then this could be a retraction issue where it is not feeding the filament back in enough at the start of the pass.

I would also remove the pi and try to print direct from SD card or USB stick, whichever it uses, to eliminate the pi as a source. Eliminate all of the obvious and easy things first.

Thanks, I’ll try what you suggested.

Remember, most printing issues are actually pretty simple to fix so try not to over complicate the problem. Just approach it logically and use a process of elimination.

Here is a decent guide for general issues and some solutions. Might be handy.
