Hi Guys, I want to print a Marvin key-chain, but I want to modify it a bit by adding the lettering: 240F on the back of his head. I have 0 3d skills, I was wondering if someone could help… I am guessing for someone that knows what he is doing it should take a couple of minutes.

Thanks in advance!

Guy.

Hey! I’ll try to help. One question though: why 240F?

Hi there, I could quickly help you out. Please tell me the size of the letters (width, length and depth, how much the letters “stick out”). Also I need to know, how large the Marvin should be. Cheers, Marius Breuer

Hey,

Here you go:

It is a 100% scaled model with letters reading “240F” on the back.

Thanks! really appreciate the help!

First, Thank you for the help! I would like the Marvin to be 2 inches high, and with regards to the letters, I don’t have a strong opinion, just want them to be very easily visible can take like half his back. Regarding the sticking out, maybe like 3mm or so, I completely trust your artistic discretion.

It’s for a school project at UCLA and the 240F is the class symbol. I am going to use this as a prop in a lecture about 3d printing.

I need to know, if your slicer is capable of arranging multiple objects and (if possible) place them by dialing in X, Y and Z coordinates. Is there still the need for the model, as 3dPrintedArt already send you a model.

Cheers,

Marius Breuer

I am not sure, I am going to use 3d hubs to find a place to print next to my address (los angeles 90066).

The model 3dPrintedArt sent me is very small (about half the size I want) and I dont know how to make it bigger.

Can you recommend on a place to print close to my location?

Thanks,

Guy.

You can search for local printers by clicking on “3d print” at the top of the 3dhubs.com website. You can tell the hub, to scale the model, to make it 2" high.

As long as scaling the model is all that’s required, you don’t need another 3d model, again just tell the hub, that you’re printing at.

Good luck,

Hey @Guy_Schwartz, awesome that you’ve got some assistance from @bgreenslade!

You can also try uploading Marvin to @tinkercad and adding ‘240F’ yourself. The software is free and easy to use so a good place to start. It’s pretty empowering to see your creations come to life. You can compare the two prints - your first design attempts with pomaer’s experience.

Hey Guy, if you manage to do your print, make sure to share some photos of your customized Marvin from the lecture! Cheers
