My design capabilities are limited to mechanical things so I don’t think I can help in that department, but have you considered 3d scanning? I have been doing high detail, full color scanning, for less than a year. To my surprise, I have used the equipment for scanning local artist’s sculptures more than anything else. With a 3d printer it’s very close to a real 3d copy machine.
I would offer my serviced but you probably want to do this local(otherwise you would have to ship the dolls) and if you’re in Amsterdam you should have no problem finding a local hub with these capabilities.
