Hello, iam trying 3d print bicycle platform pedals with FDM technology

iam looking for best material with break resistance, strength

i printed first one with ABS, after 6 months of riding it survived some impacts from rocks and roots, but last week it cracked - see attached picture

but overally it wasnt so bad result, had some issues with warping (printed with 80% infill to reduce litlle bit) and had to do some extra drilling to be able fit axle and bearings

iam about to print another one with PETG (got hands on this filament, so want to try), but idk if i can expect better result, but i guess it will break even more easily

any suggestion what material should i consider trying 3rd ??? was thinking about Nylon 12 or PC, what do you think would be best ? (from these 4 materials, or something completely different ?)

thanks for ideas

Hey Arty22 did you see this article we published: What’s the ideal filament for FDM 3D printing? 3D printing materials compared | Hubs

PC is the best under stress.

Maybe theres an insert or other piece of hardware you could implement where the crack appeared and print the next pedal reinforced where it needs to be.

petg . form futura titan x . form futura carbonfil. hips. nylon all high impact
