Printer stopped mid print. Was printing using the right extruder and haven’t used the left for ages. Printer says my ‘heater error, my temperature reads are failing, check the connections’. Looking at what the MakerBot slicer says in monitor function about the temperature readings are R=37’c L=1245’c(!!!) Bed=45’c. So clearly it is the Left extruder that has decided to be stupid. Having not used it for ages, does anyone know what has happened to cause this and more importantly what do you suggest I replace to repair it as it won’t let me bypass this??? Help, I need my printer working. Hope someone can help.

same thing was happening with CTC 3D Printer - black edition, now when i turn it on the 2 extruders do not get hot at all and the LCD screen is not reading correctly. its all blue and black but it does turn on. Also, its odd because the heater bed still works. i would like to know the solution as well. i double checked wiring and am going to try to update the firmware on the printer to 7.7.

Your thermocouple wire is bad. Mine went bad as well, same error on the screen. Switched out the wire and problem solved. I got the wire off Ebay from the seller I purchased it from awhile ago. You could swap it from the other extruder you have for now, but that error message will pop up every time you boot the printer. No biggie
