I have ordered a heated bed plate from Germany via eBay. It has the glass top that is removable. Was wondering if anyone has used this and how did stuff stick to the plate and was curling reduced. I got it because of the curling I am getting on large block prints. Here is a link to the one I am getting.

Hi there!

There are several possibilities to let your print stick to the plate. May I suggest you to take a look at this Talk Post made by @Alex3DHubs, it gives you some great insight in getting the perfect first layer.

Feel free to ask questions!

Thanks for the reply. I have tried most of those methods and they have lessened the curl but not that much. I see that as a norm a heated bed plate is used with PLA with other printers.

With anything other than PLA, you’d probably need some other material between the glass and the print. Blue painter’s tape works well for PLA. Kapton tape works really well for ABS, and manages with a lot of other materials. (Not PLA, though.) Personally, my favorite is PVA Glue, which if heated to an appropriate level sticks to any material you throw at it, but is water soluble so you can simply wash the plate to remove a stubborn print.

Hope this helped!
