Heatbed question

Hi Guys

I’m pretty new to 3D printing, just bought a Wanhao i3 - its all set up and ive done a cpl prints, but after finishing my second print, removing the filament and returning the bed/extruder back to their ‘home’ positions, the heatbed motor began to make a loud 'clunk-clunk-clunk’ sound as if the motor was jamming at a certain point - to makesure i turned off, moved the heatbed forward and tried again, and again, once the bed had moved all the way back there was the 'clunk-clunk-clunking’ noise. Ive checked the belt and rods and theres nothing obstructing the bed, as far as i know its all level and fine - does anyone have an idea what this problem could be? a bearing problem? and how do i solve this issue?

Does it actually hit the endstop switch? If so then it is either bad, came loose or the wiring is messed up. Recheck all of that.

Another thing to look at is that the belt (especially the ends) isn’t interfering.

It sounds like the Y-axis end stop. It is a mechanical switch on the left back side as you look at it from the front. You can move the bed manually towards the back and you should hear it click when the switch is hit. If you hear it click, then check the cabling or you could possibly have a bad switch. If you don’t hear it click, then you’ll need to look and figure out why it is not hitting the switch.

The clunk-clunk is the stepper/belts continually trying to move the bed back because it doesn’t know to stop since it is not getting the signal from the end stop.
