I purchased the HE DLT 180 from china. It’s a Delta printer that had great specs, but I’m getting terrible support. I was only given a foot of printer cable, which was an issue if you don’t want your printer snugged up to the back end of your desktop pc. I purchased a longer cable and after a few prints Windows started talking issue with the driver for the printer. I reistalled the driver to no avail. I adjusted the Baud rate which only gave me a complete lack of connectivity. Then I really screwed up and hit the reset button on the printers arduino board. So now I’m troubleshooting 2 issues: connectivity and uploading correct firmware. I requested the configuration.h file from the manufacturer and recieved instructions on how to install a heated bed and the config for slic3r. I’m not happy. I highly doubt that I’ll get them to honour the 1 yr warrenty. If anyone has some advice or even better the kindergarten version of how to edit the configuration.h for my printer I would be in your debt. Thanks in advance.

Hi Johnathan,
How did you go getting support or even the printer working? I have 2 of their delta printers (1 and 2 nozzle) delta and I just cannot get either one of them up and going.
Firstly, the missing parts in the kit is exacerbated by their “zero response effort”, so then I need to buy replacement parts on ebay and wait for them to arrive before I can continue. But the fact is there is no support at all for the assembly and configuration of these printers from the manufacturer.
Do you know of any useful resources to access help from ?

That company has been absolutely horrific to deal with. I bought the DLT 600. The instructions were a joke. In fact, I actually started laughing when I played on of the videos and said out loud, “Are you kidding me right now?”. I was missing pieces. I ordered a double extruder with heated bed but received no firmware, no glass or aluminum, no instructions on how to mount the heated bed, no explanation how to wire it, was sent 4 wiring diagrams which were all completely different and I could go on and on. The only good thing is that I have learned an enormous amount about Delta printers but I have yet to upload firmware and calibrate. Did you guys get your printers up and running?

Congratulations on actually receiving a reply from their support group, who are the same people as their sales group as I think they have limited english capable people there. Yes, your experience with missing parts and things that just did not work rang true with me as well, I needed to replace all the electronics and power supplies for 2 printers and luckily over the past year I have managed to collect a host of useful spare parts to get me back on track with the builds. I have managed to get mine working after buying many replacement parts from a series of ebay sellers, but I am now printing.
As for the firmware, you can use the repetier 0.91 at - Repetier Software however you will need a Configuration.h file to work from otherwise you will be measuring (incorrectly) bits and pieces of the machine for the next month and still be no closer.
I don’t know where to post a Configuration.h file here, but get me an email address to post it to and I will send it to you.
Now as for the levelling, you will need to spend some time and logic to work the necessary changes top get the arms to travel flat across the hotbed/plate, the variable that will require changes for each pillar is the DELTA_RADIUS. But that is another discussion I fear.
Cheers, let us know if you need more info, Rick

More on the DLT-180, the printer is sold as an auto-levelling printer, however it has virtually zero auto-levelling support in the hardware that is supplied with the kit. The most you can do is install the end-stop for the probe, but you have no probe and no way of offsetting the probe for normal operation (post auto-level).
I have been working closely with Geeetech with their Delta Rostock Mini G2 printer and our collaboration of the past few months has resulted in the Delta Rostock Mini G2S pro printer, which has zero 3D printed parts on it and is made purely of laser cut ABS and CNC and extruded aluminium parts. We still have outstanding issues with the GS2560 contrioller, but I am hoping that we can iron out those issues over the coming months. However my point is I was a normal customer who purchased their printer and we ran into problems and I have been working closely with thier support, engineering and sales teams since then. I even updated their assembly guide so then it is in grammatically correct and accurate English and I made sure that every reference to a part has the actual part number described as well.
HE3D are absolutely disgusting as a supplier, zero support and the product they ship always is missing parts and will contain defective parts.
My apologies for this rant everyone.

(I copied my email to you here for the benefit of the other people here)
Hi Sasha,
I didn’t realise or was confused that yours was a DLT600, because I have the DLT180. The dimensions are different with these printers, but from what I could gleem from their website, the printers have the same geometry with the exception of the much taller print area. Anyway I have attached both single and double extruder versions of the Configuration.h file, select the correct one and rename it to Configuration.h
As the printers came with zero support and warranty, and I have spent nearly $200 on replacement parts, I no longer have the HE3D brand in the firmware and I have renamed the models to be DLT181 (single extruder) and DLT182 (dual extruder).
Let me know if you need more help and I will do as much as I am able to.
Cheers,
Rick
Yeah I’m having the same problem, the support is really bad. I don’t know what to do after I’ve uploaded the firmware. There are no specefic steps on how to calibrate the z height, print radius and everything else you need to know to get started.
Could you please send me the config files as well. I struggling with my xyz arms, they do not home and hit the endstops. My email is:

Thanks
I would also love a copy of those firmware config files. mojochris(@)gmail.(com)
Thank you so so much! I’ve been pulling my hair out!
Have anyone been able to get the printers working? I am going out of my mind trying to get it to print after 3 months.

Yes, I have been able to get some good quality out of it. But I need to change nozzles as they keep on blocking

Look, you will get no support from them (reprap.cn).
The original firmware for this printer can be downloaded from http://inspire3d.com.au/dlt180/firmware\_DLT180.zip

hi Rick
i received this printer some days ago but it don’t work, i try your firmware but nothings changed.
i have the dual dlt-180 with heated bed but the lcd remains black and all the axes doesn’t move. what can i do?
My recommendation if it was just a few days you should return it back. Their service and product are not any good. I have tried all I can with mine and I just gave up. So try to return it if you can.

It’s too bad this post didn’t come up when I was doing research into buying my DLT-600. The company is absolutely atrocious to deal with. When the printer arrives, the build looks possible. However, once you actually look at the “instructions” and “instructional videos”, you quickly realize that you should have simply flushed your money down the toilet. After weeks (and possibly months) of guessing and swearing you finally get it to a point of uploading firmware. It’s only then that you realize that you should have just set the box on fire as soon as it arrived.
Big thank you to Rick, who sent me files and helped as much as he could but I’ve had mine 95% built and sitting on my work bench for about 4 months now. I’ve given up.
Oh here’s the kicker – after you have spent 3 months working on this piece of garbage, you still hold hope that you might be able to get it working. That prevents you from sending the thing back for a refund. Additionally, in order to get it back to them, you would need to disassemble the whole thing. That means unscrewing every one of the 100? 200? 300? bolts/nuts you just spend months putting together.
Trust me. It’s a nightmare. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY.
I almost want to set up a web site dedicated to keeping innocent and decent people from throwing away $1000 on this company. HE3D absolutely sucks.
I hope somebody reads this and I have helped to save someone from making the terrible mistake a few of us did when we bought from this company.
If anyone wants any more info, please don’t hesitate to ask.

I absolutely agree. RETURN THAT THING!!! The components are garbage and the company is even worse.
I am in the same boat with the DLT-600. Did you end up getting a different printer or you are still trying with this one?

I did not get a different printer yet. I ended up ordering a heated bed online (I already paid for the upgrade but didn’t get one), a SS relay, new chimera hot end and a myriad of other things that I needed and was mising. I’m still missing the actual print bed (glass or aluminum). Basically, I have just been looking at this thing in disgust every time I walk by it. Hopefully, the feeling of wanting to smash the thing with a sledge hammer will subside enough for me to try to finish it.
I ended up getting some “new” firmware from them after months but when I open it, it was yet again just firmware for the 180. I’m going to get back at it within the next week or two. I’m not as angry anymore…lol
If you email me at happy(underscore)buddha(at)outlook(dot)com, I can share more with you. Rick is also a great guy and knows his stuff. Unfortunately, he has the DLT-180 so we can’t use his firmware directly. I tried modifying it with no luck.

OK, your LCD wires are crossed, just swap them over. Once that is working we can walk through the other issues.
