American brand 3Dom USA has just released 2 new filaments based on coffee and on beer.

The Wound Up is a coffee filled 3D printing filament made using waste byproducts from coffee. And the Buzzed uses beer industry left-overs to create a special 3D printing material that seems to look like a nice yellow pale ale.

Do you have any opinion or feedback about these new and intriguing bio-based products? Have you ever printed something with it?

I have not tested it yet, but I will like to know if it smells like beer or coffee during extrusion!

Well, I can confirm the coffee smell, but have never tried the beer filament. Should be fun though

I’ll make a straw and drink my beer out of it.

So I guess, you recommend to use the coffee filament for the morning and the beer filament for the night  ?

Pierre, our sister company is 3Dom USA, the manufacturer of these materials. I can confirm that Wound Up smells distinctly like coffee but Buzzed only has a slight smell of beer grains. Certainly nothing overwhelming or remarkable.

Jake and John from 3Dom are great guys. They’re always coming up with great ideas.
