There are a lot of laptops out there with perfectly good motherboards, and sometimes amazing processors, that are just old enough to get thrown out because of broken screens or busted keyboards instead of paying the cost to repair them. I mean, some of these things have i5 or i7 processors and decent graphics chips and are relatively small boards, and fully I/O, including VGA and HDMI. Is it economic to design new 3D printed cases for these things to reuse as more desktop/media center type machines? You could even reconsider cooling solutions in the designs, and get more out of those processors. is there a reason we don’t see these already?
