Hi!

I bought a spool CF White because the poor results I got from other brands (Ultimaker and Makerpoint) with white, but now the result is even worse. The lines are extremely visible, loads of warping and larger ‘grooves’ when details are on the same layer sometimes.

I attached some examples. The iPhone dock was sliced in Cura with normal print. No additional settings. The Venus is sliced with Simplify3D. 0.10mm layers, nothing fancy.

I have these issues mostly with white. The colorfabb Yellow prints really excellent.

I’m printing on a UM2.

Does anyone know what I am doing wrong here?

Thanks

Björn

Hi Bjorn,

At what temperature are you printing? Have you tried to print at a slightly higher temp (e.g. 10c higher)?

I use Colorfabb white a lot and similar issues in the beginning.

And what happens with other colors? They print OK/smooth?

Cheers,

Alain

I’ve tried different temperatures. It seems to print slightly better @ 220C, but still not nearly as good as for example Colorfabb Signal Yellow @ 210C

Attached some shots of a Cura High Quality print with standard quickprint settings (0.06mm). It looks really weird. The nozzle is clean, so that’s not it.

During the shots in the attachment I tried changing temperature. At around 195 it nearly stopped extruding, and at 220 it was starting to become a smooth layer but it still was not nice and smooth as one would expect.

Oh I am doing a comparison test as we speak by the way. I printed a statue last night in white, which is now printing in signal yellow. Same gcode, same material settings. I’ll see the result when I get home tonight.
