I often find myself with almost finished spools that I would like to make use of. It would be nice to be able to have a “whatever available” option in the material/color selection. I for one, would significantly reduce the price of print and get to use my almost finished spools. I know many of my customers print with me while still in the prototyping step and don’t really care about material/color until their final version is ready. I’m sure they wouldn’t mind saving on the order! I may have not looked well enough and maybe it’s already possible  Any thoughts?

I like the idea!!, I also have about 6 spools with little bits left that I would love to use up.

+1, like it

I bet some clients would be okay with this too. And if they werent up for it, they could always choose a specific colour/material anyway.

Hi guys,

We don’t have this feature (yet), but feel free to create a colour called ‘whatever colour available’. You’re allowed to do this and we’ve got some other hubs doing this too.

Cheers,

I love the idea. I may have 100 meters of small bits of different spools, and I always try to see if it’s enough to fulfill an order, although I normally end up using a spool.

If you find something to do with scrap filament. We have plenty of strands less than 20 feet long, 1.75 ABS (14) colors.

Oh and we have at least 1,000 empty spools, I quit sending them to the dump when I learned they did not recycle them.

Awesome, will definitely do it on my hub.

Maybe when/if you guys decide to officially implement it, would be nice for it to be also material independent (maybe just selection between flexible/standard).

Thanks for listening

Hi,

I wonder if it is possible for you to pause the printer and change the filament mid-print when the spool is empty?

This is what I do to use all but 15 cm of my spool. I have only empty spools.
