Hello So I been really interested in printing some functional parts like tools that actually work. I printed these on the form 1+ at 100 microns

I got the adjustable wrench at Grabcad.com 6 and the screwdriver at Grabcad.com 6

Hope you like the pictures and if you need any printing services I’m glad to help you print

Cheers

What kind of finishing work did you do on them?

I didn’t do any finish work on the parts just some rubbing achole to get the resin off the part

How did you get all the support marks off?

Did you print that wrench as one piece? I have printed a couple hinged parts on my Form 1 and the resin seems to cure in the gaps. Great looking parts!. Get some mineral oil from drug store and use that to shine it up

No! I tried to print the wrench in one peace and all the peaces got stuck. So then I got thee Idea to print it in three ways the wrench it self and the other to parts by them self and the resolution was fantastic! Thanks for the tip with the mineral oil. Cheers Sunshine prototyping’s

The clear resin is terrible for functional parts. It cracks, chips or shatters very easily. It’s hard to beat good old FDM ABS for functioning parts. The new tough resin from Formlabs is pretty good, and I’ve had nothing but success with it, however at $175 a liter, it doesn’t make sense to print larger functioning parts like wrenches and screwdrivers.

all the functional parts that I made with the clear resin has been awesome. And I haven’t had any problems with cracking or chips or shatters.

cheers
