I have had a FFCP for about 1 month now and i have been having a problem that goes like this:

-something is happening that makes the filament occasionally skip or glob up

-a clicking noise is coming from the hot end when I print

-the raft will peel back as it goes back and forth

Help please? (PLA, Cura, 200-210 on the hot end, and 60-80 on the build plate.)

Thanks a million!

Some thoughts:

- Are you using painters tape or kapton tape on top of the build plate?
- A clicking sounds like it might not be hot enough - try increasing the temperature of the hot end or you are printing too slow/too fast
- As much as I don’t like the company (they use DRM in the software which actually bugged out on me) but I use Simplify3D and people who switched to Simplify3D have reported much better/easier prints.

I had a similar effect on my Flashforge Dreamer with the original printing surface. I had to change it and since that time I had no problems anymore. You may also check if your printer is correctly calibrated/leveled.

You have a clog. You’ve got a few choices in how to handle that. You could take you extruder apart but before you do that I would heat the hotend up and find a piece of wire that is the same diameter of your hotend and run it through a few times. Then load it with new medium. Let it extruded till you get a nice straight extrusion. Then try it. You can buy a kit for unclogging your extruder. It is also a good rule of thumb to use some extruder cleaning filament when switching mediums. Your kit will come with that. You will occasionally have clogs unless you switch your extruders to all metal hotends.
