Cinter and global 3D printing platform 3D Hubs hosted the much anticipated Filament Workshop. The community asked for printing best practices and the network delivered. The team made a stop-off in London as part of the world tour of focused community events.
The London community nested in for an informative evening at The Hatch - Homerton, a co-working space/bar/cafe situated in the heart of London’s emerging creative scene! A perfect place for budding designers and/or makers, the beer was pretty great too.
Organised in partnership with ColorFabb, our community were able to get their hands on the very latest in 3D printing materials. Filemon Schöffer, Head of Community at 3D Hubs delivered a well articulated and detailed presentation about the best practices for the materials, printers and equipment. Going in depth into key tips and tricks for print speeds, extrusion nozzles, calibration models and build plate adhesion. This guidance engaged members of all levels of experience, fuelling a healthy exchange of knowledge and insight from the community. The need was clear, the space was buzzing and the printers were printing.
In addition to learning how to use the filament, attendees were given a custom-made ColorFabb sample pack containing all of the specials.
As usual it was a great opportunity to catch up with the community, talk about trending subjects and showcase the 3D printed awesomeness going on in London!
@IzzySID the presentation slides should have come to the e-mail address that you have signed up with for Eventbrite. However it is very similar to this one from the NYC event.
I’ll try and see if I can get you the London version in the meantime.
Thanks guys, thanks for the slides, great London event, although I’m at the end of the Waterloo Alton Line so just over 2 hours travelling each way but I may still try and get to the odd event
Been putting theory into practice and testing the volume test prints for the materials on my UM2, I have a range of samples so checking them through from mainly ColorFabb and Faberdashery, although I got some sample lengths through from GlobalFSD of NinjaFlex Semi, T-Glase, Rerapper UV PLA and Thermo PLA and Glow Blue PLA.
I’m Slowly working my way through them and adding the results to a spread sheet that I will make available.
